PROJECT GOALS

  1. Provide a poor Nigerian Child, school, village, health facility, communities, IDP camp with access to a sustainable source of safe and clean drinking water free of pathogenic micro-organisms that cause waterborne diseases.
  2. Provide the private sector organizations and individuals with an avenue that is transparent and beneficial to directly assist these group of people with access to safe and clean water through the purchase of Lifestraw products.
  3. Provide sanitation and hygiene workshops to beneficiaries(schools etc) through partner NGOs

CURRENT INITATIVES

In 2017, EnvironFocus made this goal possible by partnering with Vestergaard Frandsen to become the sole distributor of LifeStraw microbial water filtration products in Nigeria!

We are currently working with the Department of Food and Nutrition under the Federal Ministry of Health in Nigeria to run a project titled: "Improving Nigeria's Health Index through Safe Drinking Water." This project is focused on making safe drinking water available to select hospitals and cholera-prone communities through the distribution of LifeStraw products. Communities will include schools and internally displaced people (IDP) camps. The objective of the project is to collect data that will help provide a baseline to develop standard guidelines on household water treatment and safe water storage practices in Nigeria.

PROJECT RESULTS

We have currently assisted over 10,000+ people with access to safe and clean drinking water across Nigeria. We hope to assist a minimum 30,000 people by the end of 2022.

PARTNERSHIPS

We are looking to forge successful partnerships to help us fund our current initiative. Your organization’s funding will be used towards the purchase of a Lifestraw microbial water filter product and/or to carry out the research project affiliated with the Federal Ministry of Health.

IMPACT

Your funding will contribute towards reducing mortality rates and improving health in Nigerian communities, improving education rates among Nigerian youth, as well as freeing the time of African women who are disproportionately burdened by the sourcing of water. Together we can have a greater impact and help Nigeria better meet the 2030 SDG Agenda!

PARTNERSHIP BENEFITS

We do not believe in offering a tiered sponsorship model to organizations. Instead, we want to know what you want out of the partnership, offering a customized package which is tailored to your organization. What benefits are you seeking from this arrangement? Some things we commonly offer include:

  • A Global Reporting Initiative (GR) referenced sustainability report that will speak to your organization’s sustainability contributions.
  • Pictures/Videos of communities you helped serve, provided to your organization for your use.
  • Partner’s impact recognized and displayed in our various news outlets, including our EnvironFocus weekly newsletter and our online magazine, EnvironBuzz Magazine, which has over 30,000 subscribers and gets over 1000 visits daily! Your organization will also be featured on our social media pages with a collective following of over 15,000 people ranging from Canada to Germany to India!
