The São Paulo Water Fund was established by a broad group of stakeholders working collectively toward water
security. Now fully in Operation Phase, the São Paulo Water Fund partners have conserved or restored 11,000
hectares of priority areas in the Piracicaba-Capivari-Jundiai (PCJ) and Upper Tiete watersheds; engaged 430
family farmers and landowners; and built strong relationships with local water agencies, companies, and Water

The São Paulo Water Fund was established by a broad group of stakeholders working collectively toward water
security. Now fully in Operation Phase, the São Paulo Water Fund partners have conserved or restored 11,000
hectares of priority areas in the Piracicaba-Capivari-Jundiai (PCJ) and Upper Tiete watersheds; engaged 430
family farmers and landowners; and built strong relationships with local water agencies, companies, and Water
Committees. The collective’s goals for impact are much greater. In the next five years, the São Paulo Water Fund
could improve water security for 12,000,000 people, conserve 67,000 hectares of forest to stabilize the
landscape, and generate sustainable income to upstream communities.
