Why is this course important?
Municipal Solid Waste generation is on a steep rise and its management has become a national and local priority However, professionals with both technical and soft skills are not available in the market Administrative Staff College of India ( estimates that India needs over 24000 skilled professionals by 2030 over and above the municipal staff and environmental engineers/planners employed by them This course will enhance the knowledge and skills of the young scholars and professionals to support ULBs in effectively implementing IMSWM and complying to the MSW rules 2016.

How would the course be delivered? & What’s on offer?

  • Synchronous online sessions, brainstorming sessions and group activities
  • Each session will be of 60 90 minutes duration
  • The course will be delivered in about 35 hours of online sessions
  • Weekly assessment, quiz, photovoice, virtual visits will be conducted
  • Mentorship support from city leaders and experts
  • Virtual Exhibitions, Hackathons, SWM Innovator interactions Exposure to national and international good practices
  • Hands-on experience working with a municipality through a two-month capstone project under the guidance of experienced city practitioners
