About the Centre: The Centre for Environment, Urban Governance and Infrastructure Development (CEUGID) is one of the 12 centres at Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI). Our mission is to accelerate SDG 6.2 for 10% of India's urban population by 2030. We intend to achieve through: Policy Research/Advocacy, Trainings, Implementation and Innovations. Recognised by the Govt. of India as : a) Centre of Excellence in Urban Governance and PPP and b) Thirdy party evaluator for all their Centrally Sponsored Programs in Water and Sanitation. Also, support a community of innovators through WASH Innovation Hub (in partnership with govt. of Telangana).

ASCI has established a strong presence in the areas of urban governance particularly focusing on urban service delivery. Government of India has commissioned ASCI as a nodal agency for rapid training programmes and as capacity building hub under various centrally sponsored schemes. Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India identified as a national agency for third part appraisal and evaluation of urban reforms and service delivery improvement in cities under the national urban mission. The Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India has recognized ASCI as a Centre of Excellence in PPP, Urban Service Delivery and Governance Reforms.

It offers training and certification programmes to enhance knowledge and skills of policy makers and practitioners at state/city level and in parastatal agencies to realize the goals of urban governance and management. It provides immersion programmes taking benefit of the strategic tie ups with several national and international organizations of repute. Building municipal capacities and change management is a key strength of UG Area. It has trained thousands of elected representatives, administrators and technical personnel on good urban governance, leadership development, management skills, project and contract management, PPP, ICT and Service Delivery etc.

The College has provided transaction advisory support and facilitated implementation of projects in various cities particularly in the areas of 24X7 water supply, sanitation, smart cities, service level benchmarking and urban infrastructure.
