WOGADE is an innovative community Based Organization, Not-for Profit founded in 2017 by a group community volunteers who felt compelled to respond to the needs of vulnerable and marginalized people in the local communities particularly affected by poverty and WOGADE is dedicated to working with women, girls, youth and children among the rural households to enhance the improvement of their socioeconomic livelihoods. Inspired by the high poverty levels in the rural households in Teso, WOGADE is dedicated to working for improvement of the livelihood of the rural communities in Teso sub region through empowering and building their potential to respond to their needs. WOGADE helps communities take control of their own development, demanding efficient and effective service delivery. WOGADE works in partnership with the communities to create opportunities, adapt, improve, and sustain all development initiatives of the local communities themselves. The organization has been operating in the Teso Sub-region in the pilot districts of Soroti, Serere and Amuria since 2017 and engages in a wide range of activities. Our program areas are Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Agriculture, Nutrition and Food security, Climate change, Sustainable livelihoods, promoting basic Quality Education that increases literacy skills among the non-literate ,Poverty alleviation, Public Health, Human rights protection, Reproductive Rights, Maternal and Child Health improvement, Disaster Risk Reduction and Humanitarian Assistance, Women Development, Natural Disasters(prolonged drought, floods ,famine) , HIV/AIDS awareness, Education-Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics [STEM] and Environmental Management, Household and Community Economic transformation.
