PepsiCo’s response in these watersheds is to implement our global water strategy where we strive for Positive Water Impact in and near the communities where we work — meaning our efforts and collaborations will be designed to enable long-term, sustainable water security for our business and others who depend on water availability. This global strategy is implemented through focusing on watershed management, conserving water within our operations, reducing water use in our agricultural supply chain, promoting access to water and advocating for strong water governance within communities. We are implementing this strategy now in India. For example, we are actively replenishing high water risk watersheds where we operate. In 2017, we replenished over 6 billion liters of water through community programs such as rainwater harvesting, storage pond rehabilitation and check dam installations.
