We use a large amount of water from raw material crude procurement to Kampo preparation. In Tsumura Group both in Japan and overseas, as one of the medium-term environmental goals, we are working on quantitative goals for water resource protection / reduction. In order to reduce the amount of water used, we recovered the cooling water in the manufacturing process and reused (the recovery rate of the Ibaragi factory in fiscal 2016 is 55.6%). We also reuse treated water after wastewater treatment for water scrubbers and miscellaneous water systems. Regarding the quality of wastewater, we have established voluntary standards that are stricter than those of regional municipalities, and we are implementing management based on that standard.
