Pier5.org has made emmense progress in the first year. We are now in discussion with the Mayor of Boston, leading municpal organizations, The Trustees of Reservations, Veterans community and more! Although making a park out of a large historic Pier is difficult amongst Boston's dysfunctional urban renewal process. While we continue with this mission we have started several related projects which connect the West side of Charlestown with the Waterfront to the East of the divisive Highway. There are several deralict pedestrian ways to the waterfront. Each need ADA+ and overall phsycological and physical repairs. Getting people to the waterfront has become a priority as a part of our Pier 5 park initiative.
