Pier 5 - Boston Navy Yard Park vs Private Public Project (PPP) Development without Oversight

The Pier 5 Association is going to stop private development of a public pier in the Boston Navy Yard. We need all the help we can get. We are up against a conflict of interest, private urban development 'agency' of the government. They are multigenerational institution with players in all levels of oversight. We were told that the PPP oversight committee/function has not been active for many years. They rely on their revunue to operate. There is no incentive or intent to save a historic pier and use nature based solutions to restore the pier as a biophilic park. Pier5.org/news

  • A Unique Point to Watch Boats, International Commerce, Water
  • No other point in the harbor offers this unique spot to watch the summer - and winter! sailboat racing and multiple events, attracting thousands

HARBOR CITIES AROUND THE WORLD TURNED THEIR OLD PIERS INTO ICONIC PUBLIC TREASURES.

BOSTON has not. FEMA Rating in "Retrograde". A private company driven by revenues has no part in determining the fate of public waterfront historic pier. It abutts and is a part of a National park. There is no transparency by the government entity with private missions. Few questions and calls of the public are ever addressed let alone recognized.
