The main objective of this project was to supply water to Lake Sazanie to restore natural flooding and nearby wetlands. This was achieved by eliminating the unauthorized dam from the Ogibnoy Erik River, a source of water for Lake Sazanie and by removing accumulated sediment from a natural branch connecting the lake and the Ogibnoy Erik River and from the bed of the lake itself. To restore native vegetation, invasive species were removed and native species were planted. The lake was stocked with 10,452 fish, a fish wintering hole was constructed, and native cuatic plants were introduced. The restoration of the shore vegetation helped increase the number of bird nests and the expanded flooding area of wetland meadows improved the conditions for fish spawning.
