The project, a collaboration between TCCC and TNC, implemented conservation and restoration activities on 1,192.6 hectares in the Siecha, Blanco, Rio Moyas, Teusac‡ and Aves Watersheds of Colombia to improve hydrologic conditions and reduce runoff, conserve and restore native forest cover and associated ecosystem services, conserve native paramo cover and associated ecosystem services, and improve water supply and water quality. The project consisted of 5 activities on properties previously used for agriculture, grazing and mining: forest conservation; paramo conservation; passive forest restoration; grassland restoration; active restoration. These activities were achieved via conservation agreements with landowners.
