The Soil and Water Outcomes Fund provides financial incentives directly to farmers who transition to on-farm conservation practices that yield positive environmental outcomes like carbon sequestration and water quality improvement. We provide new market opportunities and revenue streams for farmers by selling these environmental outcomes to the public and private beneficiaries that benefit from them.

By stacking together the many positive environmental outcomes of on-farm conservation practices, we deliver substantial per-acre payments to our farmer partners and extremely competitive environmental outcome pricing to our customers. Our goal is to transform agriculture by forging unique partnerships and creatively leveraging impact-aligned capital.

The Soil and Water Outcomes Fund is a partnership of AgOutcomes and ReHarvest Partners.

By providing payment to farmers for the implementation of a variety of agriculture best management practices, the Fund can generate a large number of potential outcomes. This includes:

  • Water quality outcomes to meet regulatory obligations like NPDES permits associated with wastewater utilities
  • Source water protection for drinking water utilities
  • Enhanced soil carbon sequestration to meet corporate Scope 3 or other supply chain sustainability commitments
  • Increased water storage and retention in healthy soils to help mitigate downstream flooding
  • New or protected habitat for species conservation or recreation
  • Enhanced financial resilience for farmers
