The California Water Resilience Initiative is a private sector initiative to accelerate coordinated, collective action to achieve a water-resilient future for California in alignment with public sector goals. The initiative is spearheaded by Ecolab and Starbucks in their roles as Water Resilience Coalition Basin Champions for California; it is being facilitated by the Pacific Institute and LimnoTech.

Through this initiative, leading corporations are stepping up to lead the charge on achieving an ambition of reducing, reusing, and restoring 1 million acre-feet of water by 2030, in support of the 5 million-acre-foot goal set forth in Governor Newsom’s water supply strategy. By 2040, we aim to reach 1.8 million acre-feet. There are ripe opportunities for companies to engage in high-impact water-related collective action in California through this new initiative.
