Project Overview

Camposol noticed high consumption of water in cleaning and packing processes. It occurred because there were rugged cement floors which made more difficult the cleaning process, even it was necessary to use more water, disinfectants and man-hours to keep areas without contaminants. Camposol noticed high consumption of water in cleaning and packing processes. It occurred because there were rugged cement floors which made more difficult the cleaning process, even it was necessary to use more water, disinfectants and man-hours to keep areas without contaminants. Camposol proposed coating floors with polyurethane in selected areas. This material is smooth and facilitates the cleaning process because it needs less water to wash. This project allows savings in water resources. Coating floors with polyurethane covered 12,064 m2 in freezing and packing processes of asparagus, artichoke, pepper and blueberries.

Project Results

Reduction of consumed water: 39,185 m3/year

Savings for reduction of industrial water consumed: 76,588.78 USD/year
