Promover la restauración ecológica participativa, a través del establecimiento de los viveros escolares en seis Instituciones educativas de la subregión del Urabá Antioqueño.

C.I. UNIBAN es la primera exportadora de plátanos y banano de Colombia y opera en los departamentos de Urabá y Magdalena. También tiene industrias de producción de otros productos agrícolas (piña, chips de plátano, aceite de palma), cajas de cartón y plástico en Santa Marta. Por su tamaño, alcance e impacto, la empresa C.I UNIBAN se volvió un actor clave en el desarrollo de la región de Urabá y Santa Marta. AGRÍCOLA SARA PALMA S.A. es la filial productora de banano de C.I. UNIBAN. Ambas entidades se comprometieron en el marco del proyecto El Agua Nos Une a apoyar una iniciativa territorial externa a su actividad corporativa, que genere procesos de gestión comunitaria responsable del agua. De acuerdo con lo anterior se asumió el compromiso de trabajar a partir de las estrategias de Respon- sabilidad Social Corporativa, a través de la Fundación Uniban, con el liderazgo de dos proyectos, uno relacionado con la reforestación de mangle y el otro con viveros escolares. Los logros que en materia de educación ambiental se presentan a nivel subregional han venido en ascenso, alcanzando experiencias significativas en algunos establecimientos educativos. De hecho, los procesos de reforestación centrada en los viveros escolares se configuran como el eje motor de cada institución educativa para trabajar la conservación del ambiente.

  • Educación ambiental y sensibilización:

  2. Intercambio de saberes y pasantías en el bosque de Tulenapa, Universidad de Antioquia.
  3. Planes de gestión comunitarios: Trabajo con los líderes comunitarios para identificar necesidades en términos de acciones de recuperación de corredores ecológicos en Puerto Girón.
  • Trabajo comunitario con 10 familias de la comunidad de pescadores de Puerto Voy para proporcionar nuevas opciones de vida y reducir la tala de manglares en la desembocadura del Río León.
  • Mejoramiento del equipamiento comunitario (apoyo a la adecuación/construcción de infraestructuras en las comunidades que lo necesitan para un manejo más responsable del agua, baños y viviendas palafíticas).
