The BJF was founded in 2009 to support what was then still a scientific plan: the restoration of native trees through the degraded Araguaia Biodiversity Corridor in Brazil, the worldÕs longest nature corridor, connecting two of the worldÕs most vital ecosystems: the Amazon rainforest and the Cerrado savanna. By planting native trees on a massive scale, we will reduce and reverse deforestation in the region, and this the most important contribution we can make to both fight climate change and bring biodiversity back. We know we set ourselves an extremely ambitious goal. That is why we proceed in well-planned steps to complete this 30-year mission. We spent several years meticulously planning and preparing our bold project with our local partners to get proof of concept and develop our three-year cycle of restoration. We started the planting in 2018, in the region of Santana do Araguaia (PA) and Caseara (TO). We have planted over 100,000 trees (by Dec2020) and we are now ready for the planting of the first one million trees by 2022. Next, to build more partnerships and plant more trees to restore more land! Our next fundraising goal is to plant 10 Million trees by 2025. JOIN OUR COMMUNITY AND BECOME PART OF ONE OF THE LARGEST REFORESTATION PROJECTS ON EARTH.
