WaterNow partnered the Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities to assist with the development of a water conservation program to help income-qualified customers save water and money and create a program toolkit that can be rebranded and replicated by other cities. The Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities previously approved funding for a water conservation program targeted at income-qualified customers covers the cost of purchasing and installing up to two water efficient toilets, showerheads and faucet aerators per qualifying household. The program also assists with fixing leaks inside the home. Cheyenne, which has just one full time conservation program staff member, applied for WaterNow’s Project Accelerator Program seeking outside assistance to design the conservation program, optimize work flows, formulate an outreach strategy, design promotional materials, and identify metrics to track program success.
