The students will form VTC hygiene and sanitation committees, which will then decide upon the type of toilet to be constructed at the VTC. All students will receive hygiene and sanitation education (PHAST) and will be instructed on how to use the different types of latrines properly. The forty students will be equipped with tools and with social marketing knowledge. After that, they will follow a training in entrepreneurship and business management under the IDYDC Microfinance program. Thereafter they will be provided with soft loans in order to start their own businesses in the sanitation sector.
