Dow has converted 5 plants to produce hand sanitizer and pledged $3 m for COVID-19 relief. At maximum production capacity, the 5 plants are expected to produce over 400,000 pounds of hand sanitizer which will be donated to hospitals and governments near Dow's production sites in countries including Brazil, Belgium, and the U.S. Dow is collaborating with local officials to meet local needs as efficiently as possible. Of Dow's $3m pledged donation, $2m will be for immediate relief for the WHO, Direct Relief (a humanitarian aid organization), and local and regional NGOs in communities around the world. The remaining $1m will be donated during the recovery phase to increase community resilience.
