Community Overview

Coronavirus disease 2019 (or COVID-19) is an infectious respiratory disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a pandemic in March of 2020 due to the disease’s global spread. Public health agencies — including the WHO and the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) — have urged the public to maintain physical distance from one another and to practice frequent handwashing.

With the introduction of the new portal, users of the Water Action Hub can now explore best practices and find resources to best suit their needs in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic.

The COVID-19 Community Portal features:

  1. Guidelines for public health and social measures in the workplace
  2. Connections between the COVID-19 response and WASH issues
  3. Organizations taking the lead in combating the disease and their current efforts
  4. Advocacy and support links with funding opportunities, US federal resources and information

The Water Action Hub invites all community members, businesses, and NGOS to list their resources on upholding safe practices and join in on the discussion on how to best protect the communities they serve.

By collaborating and sharing knowledge, we can strengthen our ability to effectively address the pandemic.
