In the final year of an IB World School Primary Years Program (PYP), students conduct personal and group inquiries on a chosen topic. This should be transdisciplinary and address several areas of knowledge and synthesize the essential elements of the PYP. These student-initiated investigations are the culmination of their growth and learning and share their findings in a large Exhibition in which the entire school community is invited to participate.

The ABA Global School, as a 21st century school that aims at the integral formation of the thinking and active citizen in its society, enables its Year 5 students to reflect on current and problematic themes that help to build fair and sustainable societies.

Project Results

In 2019 Year 5 students were invited to reflect on the issue of the water crisis and santitaion in today's societies. From the motivating question, a whole reflection about the concept of the proper use of water and sanitation and the environmental impacts that they cause began. The steps for creating the PYP Exhibition were the same as those applied every year. The final project was the creation of models with possible solutions for the Capibaribe River in Recife - Pernambuco, Brazil.
