Development Support Centre is a Non Government Organisation working on participatory natural resource management particularly water management and livelihoods. It was established in 1994 and works directly in irrigated and rainfed areas (11 districts & 345 villages) of two states of India namely Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. It is implementing a variety of programmes related to water management such as Participatory Irrigation Management (PIM), Watershed Management, Integrated Water Resource Management and Management of Aquifer Recharge. Besides water management the organisation also promotes sustainable agriculture and enterprise development. Besides direct implementation through facilitation of various village institutions, DSC a resource centre that provides capacity building support to rural communities, NGOs, Government Departments and students from academic institutions. It is also involved in developing and disseminating Information, Education and Communication Material in local languages, conducting research and documentation and influencing policies related to water management at the State and National level.
