Pemba Environment and Sanitation Organization is a non-government organization established in Pemba archipelago and registered in 2018 with registration No Z. 0000002986 under Societies Act No 6 of 1995.
The purpose of this organization is to improve and promote environmental sanitation and hygiene through its programs that are managed by community members in Pemba Island.
The organization also established since there is a need within our community to have a specific body that is responsible for dealing with environmental sanitation in order to protect community members from being affected with several diseases such as Cholera, Malaria, and other communicable diseases.
The organization is engaged in several Environmental sanitation programs conducted at the community level and out of community-level include cleaning of Roads, Markets, Hotels Private, and Public sectors such as Hospital. The Organization has been focusing on those priority areas since the majority of people depend to gets services from those areas hence P.E.S.O ensures that people are access services without being affected by environmental calamities.

Pemba environment and sanitation envision all people at Pemba Island have access to clean water and sanitation and one suffering from water-related diseases.
