The objective of this project is to restore Rito Peña Negras with installation of (Beaver Dam Analog) BDAs. The BDAs are expected to decrease stream velocity, reduce channelization and sedimentation and improve coldwater habitat by reconnecting the stream with its floodplain and increasing groundwater infiltration and recharge. The BDAs may also help attract beavers back to this area after riparian vegetation has reestablished.
