Businesses should undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibilityOur environmental performance achievements are the result of enterprise and facility-level commitmentsto increasing the efficiency of our operations through actions and investments that result in greaterenvironmental stewardship.Through our Create and Maintain Value (CMV) program, we employ our expertise and technology tocontinually find more ways to deliver strong business results while saving water and energy, reducingwastewater and prolonging equipment life throughout our facilities. We do this with an eye for how ourimpact extends beyond our operations to local people and communities. In 2018, we completed 41 process improvement projects that delivered resource reduction outcomesacross our global footprint. For example:- At our plant in Clearing, Illinois, we installed a top-of-the line water reclaim system. When that systemis fully operational, the plant, which is the largest water user in Ecolabï¿1⁄2s inventory, will save 100million gallons per year.- Our plant in Garyville, Louisiana, has reduced its daily water intake by 13 percent, reusing filteredMississippi river water in the production process.
