Plant-for-Ghana is a pioneer reforestation project by Plant-for-the-Planet Ghana - a national affiliate of Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation in Germany. The Yucatan Reforestation project in Mexico, with its valuable experience, serves here as a lesson learned project. Sustainable reforestation is the way we can restore the lost forest in Ghana and reach the overarching goal to plant a trillion trees. This project creates green jobs in rural areas and at the same time raises awareness on biodiversity among the local people. This project will further create additional carbon sinks and also create sustainable sources of income for many families in said zone. There are additional benefits to this project. á It serves as a study or research ground for the partner universities to provide students with field experience and also help come out with more improved and fast-growing species. á It serves as a habitat for many animal species. á It closes the gap in the desertification of the northern savanna ecological zone of Ghana. á It shall serve as a role model project for neighboring countries. . Beekeeping for women and youth. In Ghana, desertification and climate change are critical issues as they seriously threaten over 84,000 km (square) or 35 % of the total land area of Ghana, displaces most of the people in these areas and threatens farming activities as a result of drought and floods which affects food security in these areas. Plant-for-Ghana plans to restore 10 million local tree species in the Northern Savannah Ecological Zone of Ghana, which is managed by the Plant-for-the-Planet Ghana. We are currently raising funds for the start of the project. A payment to the organization will be made as soon as the country is contractually secured. Until then, the Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation will hold your donations in trust. You are making a right decision by supporting Plant-for-Ghana with your donations! We only achieve the 10,000,000 goal with your support!. Thank you very much for your support! You are a change maker!
