General Mills is tracking the Eastern Snake River Plain Aquifer Comprehensive Aquifer Management Plan to drive progress toward watershed sustainability. We support TNC to help farmers implement water management and soil health practices that reduce groundwater withdrawals and address declining water levels and watershed health in this area. In 2017, the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) allocated $5.2 million to promote and implement irrigation and water saving projects through its Regional Conservation Partnership Program. TNC also received a grant from the NRCS to help develop the business case for farmers to reduce water use. Also see Southern Idaho Fieldprint Project and the TNC soil health roadmap.

Project Narrative

Solving Water for disaster-impacted communities A wave of recent severe weather events and natural disasters has devastated communities across the globe, causing major loss of life, and leaving hundreds of thousands of people without basic needs like shelter and clean water. These tragedies are on the rise due to climate change, their impact intensified by pressures like population growth and coastal development. For us, this work is about creating social value and an integral part of our shared commitment to solve water.
