Project Overview

In 2015, the Ministry of Environment signed an agreement to provide a water purifier to rural groundwater contaminated areas. We Provide free water purifiers to about 500 households so that residents in the groundwater pollution area can drink clean water. We are also conducting technical support and research to improve ground water. (pg. 73)

Project Narrative

* To develop a tree inventory in the Metropolitan Area of Monterrey though a randomize sampling process. There will be a field work for recollecting the tree information of the public areas, while there will be a satellite-image based methodology to estimate the trees located in private areas. * To use i-Tree Eco & i-Tree Canopy to estimate the actual environmental services provided by trees in the actual conditions. * To define the improvements expected from an aggressive tree planting effort, in an aggregate perspective, but also by specific locations. * To define the native species that should be focus on to achieve the expected improvements. * To define the number of trees to plant, and the spatial distribution to achieve the expected improvements.
