Creation of a platform of communication (committee) where stakeholders share their monitoring data, information, concerns and brainstorm together on developing action plans for a more efficient and sustainable water resources management of the Upper Ruvuma River and its tributaries (significant ecological and economic value for the region). The Upper Ruvuma Catchment Basin Steering Committee (URCBSC) has the mandate of coordinating management of the shared resources and being the vehicle to manage perceptions of water management of the river. Focus on the following objectives: - To maintain good cooperation between all members of this committee and ease the process of integration of new stakeholders; - To retain good relations with the Ruvuma Water Board so that new developments can be monitored; - To contribute to strengthening a coordinated catchment management strategy of the shared resource; - To decide of common actions to support a better management of the shared resource; - To share actions at even broader level such as its integration to the regional Ruvuma catchment strategy (Tanzanian Ministry of Water, 2012).

Project Results

- Creation of the Committee; - Sharing of Monitoring Information on water quality, consumption and management; - Enlarge sustainable water management to a wider range of actors.
