Community orientation camps on the impact of drought and community-based drought mitigation strategies.

Formation of user groups and technical backstopping for their institutional development ugs will be given technical inputs to set up systems to strengthen their drought mitigation and establish a mechanism for efficient and appropriate water management

Capacity building and technical backstopping of livelihood promotion committee on institution building management convergence mechanism with special reference to accessing govt scheme.

Formation of livelihood promotion committee this is the main village-level social structure having Membership from all the social groups and women. This structure is responsible for the overall planning and implementation of the project intervention at the village level.

Participative formation of village specific detailed technical plan for soil moisture conservation and water resources development.

Project Results

Expected outcome:

Livelihood condition of the target groups are improved by accessing the basic rights of water and food security

.80/ of the targeted 3447 families have sufficient food and drinking water available throughout the years

Increase in crop yield by 15/.due to increased soil and water regime.

Minimum 90000 cum of rainwater harvested and stored in created /rejuvenated structures by the end of the project period.

1290 acres of dry land owned by small and marginal farmers and women-headed households brought under protective. irrigation.

Reduced soil erosion on 930 Ha of treated land resulting increase in soil moisture retention benefiting crop survival during the dry spell.

The livelihood promotion committees and user groups are actively engaged in increasing water use efficiency with appropriate water management practices based on water budgeting.
