WaterAid is an international NGO focused exclusively on ensuring equitable access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education (WASH) for the world’s poorest communities. Formed in 1981 we have been working in water, sanitation and hygiene for over 30 years. To date we have reached 17.5 million people with safe water and 12.9 million people with improved sanitation. WaterAid works in 27 countries globally, primarily in sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and Central America. Each country operates a national WaterAid Country Programme. These are supported by our offices in the UK, USA, Sweden and Australia. Lesotho is a small country that sits within South Africa. WaterAid has been working in Lesotho since 2009. WaterAid Lesotho is a pilot programme headquartered in our Southern Africa regional office in Reitfontein, Pretoria, South Africa. WaterAid Lesotho has to date been primarily focused on mapping water and sanitation in two districts. With this data WaterAid Lesotho will develop a programme of work potentially supported by the Finnish Government (through its South Africa Embassy) and the Government of Lesotho. As WaterAid Lesotho is still at an early stage of establishment we are only working with a select few partners. WaterAid Lesotho is not currently looking for new partners. Project Results

We hope to reach around 6,000 rural people with safe water, and 4,200 people, with adequate sanitation.
