Currently, California is in the midst of a drought of historic proportions, with severe impacts on ecosystems, communities, farms, and businesses. Connect the Drops is a business-led campaign, elevating the voice of California businesses in favor of resilient water supply solutions, such as conserving, reusing and maximizing local water supplies. Companies sign on to a Declaration acknowledging that they cannot risk the state’s economic future by relying on outdated water management practices, policies and infrastructure, and that the time has come to build a resilient water future. In addition, they commit to engaging on some key policy efforts that move the needle in ensuring a sustainable water future for California. Sign on to this campaign to help “connect the drops" between healthy water supplies and the vitality of the California economy.

Project Results

Ceres in collaboration with our business partners recently launched the Connect the Drops campaign with nine signatories— The Coca-Cola Company, Driscoll’s, Gap Inc., General Mills, KB Home, Levi Strauss & Co., MillerCoors, Sungevity, and Symantec. Campaign signatories recently traveled to Sacramento to meet with key legislators to discuss business support for water stewardship efforts including conservation, reuse and recycling, stormwater capture and recharge. The campaign will continue to identify opportunities to support and partner with policy makers on prudent water policy development and implementation. The campaign will also highlight company actions on water stewardship – in their direct operations and within their supply chains – to shine the spotlight on existing company practices to steward water resources. This will be accomplished through blogs, news stories and media messaging.
