Project Overview

As Brisbane is the area of the highest water risk in Kirin group, the Castlemain Parkins Plant in Brisbane introduced the cutting-edge facility to reduce water use in 2008. It allows us to reduce the water use by 225,000? per year (reduction per production: 0.98?/kL). The same facility was introduced to our factory in Kobe too. As we use …

As Brisbane is the area of the highest water risk in Kirin group, the Castlemain Parkins Plant in Brisbane introduced the cutting-edge facility to reduce water use in 2008. Its initial cost was about 250 million yen. The facility enables advanced water treatment using reverse osmosis and use of recycled water. It allows us to reduce the water use by 225,000? per year (reduction per production: 0.98?/kL). The same facility was introduced to our factory in Kobe too. As we use significant amount of water, the operation of beer factories is hard to gain understanding in some aspects. As a company, we aim at gaining understanding from stakeholders such as local community and our customers, through our activities concerning with efficient water use.

Project Results
