Increase the income of fresh milk suppliers through the increase of production and the improvement of the quality of milk they provide.

The communities of Chonta Alta, Quinuayoc and Mahuaypampa in the district of San Esteban de Chetilla do not have adequate techniques or skills to increase their production and improve the quality of the milk. Likewise, there is evidence of poor hygiene practices throughout the productive process and health conditions of families. The Chetilla project seeks for the villagers to improve their living conditions by increasing production, milk quality and improving their sanitary conditions. Nestlé is increasing the efficiency in the production and quality of milk; Thus, it was identified that the farmers used the water in the canal inefficiently and that they had a reservoir filled with rainwater; which limited its production during the dry season as it was a seasonal reservoir. As part of the activities under the SuizAgua Andina project, Nestlé assisted in the implementation of a technified irrigation system for 45 farmers, which allowed a better use of the water resource throughout the year. At the same time, the capacities of rural families for the management of technical irrigation and soil management were strengthened; achieving an efficient use of water and thus increasing their income and, therefore, their quality of life.
