The ALFA project aims at protecting citizens in Northwest Europe against the effects of flooding due to climate change. All partners face the same problems and challenges due to climate change: creating new floodplains, their effects for inhabitants, and their effects on the landscape. The ALFA project aims at protecting citizens in Northwest Europe against the effects of flooding due to climate change. All partners face the same problems and challenges due to climate change: creating new floodplains, their effects for inhabitants, and their effects on the landscape. The technical adjustments that have to be made are also relatively new for all partners. Via transnational cooperation in developing and implementing policy measures in the project areas, knowledge and experiences will be shared between the six river catchments.
