The primary objective of this project is to create a flowing river channel and wetlands that reestablish connectivity between two segments of the Colorado River that are blocked by the Windy Gap Reservoir. Additional objectives are to restore the natural pulses of sediment and nutrients, fish passage and provide recreational access and amenities. The Windy Gap River Connectivity Channel Project is a high visibility project that works with diverse partners and funders (public, federal, and corporate) to achieve a comprehensive river and flow restoration outcome that is linked to sustaining water supply for the Denver Metro area and fish and wildlife and recreation benefit.
